Dr.
Bamandas Mukherjee – one
of the most renowned gynaecologists of his time was
a legendary figure. Besides practicing medicine he was
deeply religious and was involved in multifarious philanthropic
work. He was honest, humble and was respected by one
and all. He was a close associate of Dr. Bidhan Chandra
Roy, the first Bengal chief minister of independent
India.

Dr.
Basudeb Mukherjee is the son of
Mr. Girija Prosad Mukherjee, the younger son of Dr.
Bamandas Mukherjee. He has over the years, established
himself, as one of the leading gynaecologists in the
city. Besides his profession, he is actively involved
in multifarious cultural activities. He acts in Bengali
films & TV serials and has over the years created
a niche in that sphere of life too. |

Dr.
Basab Mukherjee is the son of
Dr. Basudeb Mukherjee. He is the fourth gynaecologist
in the family, making the family unique and one of its
kind in the country. Basab completed under graduation
and post graduation in the reputed Christian Medical
College at Vellore. After completing his training and
higher studies abroad, he is currently involved in private
practice and specializes in the care of high-risk pregnancy
and endoscopic surgery. |

Dr.
Lina Mukherjee is the wife of
Dr. Basudeb Mukherjee. She is an anaesthetist by profession
specialized in obstetric anaesthesia. She has the important
work of balancing her career with managing the home
front. |

Dr.
Suchetana Mukherjee is the wife
of Dr. Basab Mukherjee. She is an Ophthalmologist completing
her under graduation and post graduation studies from
Ahmedabad. She has been trained in Shankara Nethralaya,
Chennai and L.V. Prasad Institute at Hyderabad and has
a special interest in glaucoma and medical retina.

Suchetana
comes from a family of lawyers. Her father Justice
Ganendra Narayan Ray
was a Judge of the Supreme Court and the ex- Chief
Justice of Gujarat. He presently holds the post of
the Chairman of the Press Council of India. Suchetana’s
mother Mrs. Gargi Ray is very
active in social welfare and women empowerment projects.
Suchetana’s brother Mr. D. N.
Ray is an advocate practicing
in the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court. |

Mrs.
Barnali Chatterjee is the daughter
of Dr. Basudeb Mukherjee and Dr. Lina Mukherjee. She
completed her bachelors in Economics from St. Xaviers’
Kolkata and then went on to do her Masters in USA. She
is happily married to Mr. Saurav Chatterjee and has
a daughter Shreya and son Siddharth. Mr. Saurav Chatterjee
is a doctorate from the famous Carnegie Mellon University
presently based in California. |
